Woven throughout the concert are poems from Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass with music by our artistic director Colin Jacobsen, his brother Eric, and GRAMMY-winning guitarist Kyle Sanna. Whitman’s words reach out to us from a fragile moment in America’s democracy—the Civil War—and call us to attention in our own times.
